Bio
John Moody enters his 6th season at the helm of the Seawolves softball team. Since his hire, John and his staff have put together a very competitive program. His overall win-loss record stands at 87-54 and has the highest winning percentage (62%) in programs history. Under John's leadership, the softball team has won four Yankee Small College Conference Titles ('07, '08, '10 & '11).
"Coach Moody continues to elevate our softball program to be a destination for some of the best high school players in Maine. He is a tireless worker and the program's success is a testament of that effort," stated SMCC Athletics Director Matt Richards.
Prior ro arriving at SMCC, Moody had a successful career in the high school ranks; he spent nine seasons as the head softball coach at Gray-New Gloucester High School where he compiled a 102-40 overall record. Those seasons included Maine Class B State Championships in 2001 and 2003. He was named Coach of the Year in 2003 by the Maine Softball Coaches Association. In 2001, Moody was nominated for best coaching staff east region in the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association.
