Softball Drops Two to Briarcliffe College
South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College softball team lost two non-conference games this afternoon to United State Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) opponent Briarcliffe College (NY). Briarcliffe shutout SMCC by a score of 8-0 in game one and 9-0 in game two. The Seawolves were able to stay close with 9th-ranked Briarcliffe through the first five innings of both games, but couldn't hold on in the sixth.
SMCC drops to 8-19 overall and remains 4-1 in conference play. The Seawolves are back in action this weekend when they host doubleheaders against conference foe Vermont Technical College on both Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th. Games are at 1:00pm and 3:00pm on Saturday and 12:00pm and 2:00pm on Sunday.
