Women’s Basketball Beat Hampshire College 70-30

Southern Maine Community College used a strong second half performance to put away Hampshire College.  In the last 20 minutes, the Seawolves outscored Hampshire 45-14 and stole the ball 18 times en route to a 70-30 victory.

Marissa Welch (Livermore, ME) led the Seawolves with a double-double performance scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.  Kimmie Preston (Portland, ME) contributed 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. 

The Seawolves finish the regular season 15-11 overall and 10-6 in conference play.  They enter the Yankee Small College Conference tournament as the five-seed and face fourth-seeded Central Maine Community College on Thursday, February 23rd at NHTI. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
