Women’s Game, Tip Off 6 p.m.
Scouting the Opposition: Reigning 2017 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Champions, the Lady Mustangs enter play a perfect 9-0 in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action, 13-1 overall—their only blemish coming against Navy Prep. In the release of the USCAA Week 2 Coaches Poll on Dec. 6, CMCC ranked #1 scoring 84.2 points and limiting opponents to just 37.1 points per game, best among all YSCC teams. Four average in double-digit scoring led by first-year Jordyn Reynolds and junior Brooke Reynolds at 12.0 and 11.5 points per game. The Reynolds sisters also lead their team in rebounding pulling down 15.5 per game between the two of them.
All-Time Series: SMCC has won 18 of the total 43 meetings all-time against the conference opponent from Auburn. Last matching up in the USCAA National Tournament semi-final game in Uniontown, Pa. a season ago, CMCC comes to The HUB having won three straight against the SeaWolves.
Leading the Way: First-year Abigail Ramirez (Methuen, Mass.) leads the Lady Wolves in scoring averaging 12.5 PPG spanning 11 contests this season. The crafty point guard totals 3.8 steals per game (2-YSCC) and dishes 4.2 assists per game (4-YSCC). The frontcourt compliment has been junior co-captain Jordan Farquharson (Ryegate, Vt.) who has amassed 50 points in the last three games.
Men’s Game, Tip Off 8 p.m.
Scouting the Opposition: CMCC ranked #10 in the USCAA Week 2 Coaches Poll sporting a 10-2 mark this season, 7-2 in the YSCC standings. Winners of two straight, the Mustangs are led by first-year Josh Chery who scores 12.0 PPG and 8.7 REB/G. As a team, CMCC scores at a rate of 84.5 PPG and limits the opposition to 66.1 PPG. The Mustangs are coming off a stretch of five games in nine days.
All-Time Series: The SeaWolves hold the upper hand all-time, having won 62 of 113 total meetings. SMCC took two of three from CMCC a season ago and is 3-3 at home against the conference rival over the previous five seasons.
Leading the Way: Junior Dylan Silvestri (Pelham, N.H.) leads his team in scoring and rebounding at 13.9 PPG and 10.3 REB/G (3-YSCC), totaling six double-doubles this season. First-year Willie Brown (Willimantic, Conn.) averages a shade above 13 PPG and first-year Jacobee Burpee (Manchester, N.H.) has been creative off the dribble averaging 4.0 AST/G (5-YSCC); he also ranks first in the nation in three-point percentage at 55.6 percent.
