Seawolves Take Win Over Naval Academy Prep
Five players put up double digits as Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) beat the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) 88-47. The Seawolves limited their turnovers to 11, picked off 15 steals and out-rebounded NAPS in a solid team victory.
Freshman Katelyn Benson (Westbrook, ME) led all scorers with 24 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Sophomore Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) and freshman Marissa Welch (Livermore, ME) contributed 14 and 13 points respectively. Freshmen Emily Bard (Fort Kent, ME) and Stefanie Saavedra (Portland, ME) provided sparks off the bench with 12 and 10 points.
NAPS was led by Jackie Kennedye and Victoria Spies with 12 points each.
SMCC moves to 2-1 with the win. The Seawolves are back in action Saturday, November 12th when they host Eastern Maine Community College at noon.
