Concord, NH - The Lady Seawolves struggled to generate offense in tonight's softball doubleheader against conference foe NHTI, dropping two contests to the Lady Lynx 0-2 in game one and 2-7 in game two.
In game one of today's doubleheader Lady Seawolf pitcher Charlotte Lewis(Chatham, NH) gave up only two runs and struck out five batters but those two runs were too much for the struggling offense to overcome. Lady Lynx' pitcher Tori Lemay (Manchester, NH) struck out 19 of the 23 batters she faced throughout seven innings, allowed zero runs and gave up only three hits. The Lady Seawolves defense worked hard to keep NHTI off the scoreboard but NHTI's outfielder Alyssa Brown (Keene, NH) chalked up two RBI's as she batted in shortstop Joardyn Douillette (Loudon, NH) and outfielder Kendall Graton (Plymouth, NH) to give NHTI the 2-0 advantage.
The Lady Seawolves' offense faired better in game two as they managed to get four hits including a double from third baseman Lindsey Howell (Limington, ME) giving her two RBI's for the game. The Lady Linx were led by outfielder Kendall Graton (Plymouth, NH) who went three for four at the plate with a double and four RBIs. NHTI's pitcher Tori Lemay (Manchester, NH) put on another impressive performance striking out eleven batters and only giving up one earned run, leading the Lady Linx to a 7-2 triumph.
With these two losses the Lady Seawolves drop to 5-4 overall and 3-4 in conference play. They will return to action Wednesday October 2nd at home with a doubleheader against Central Maine Community College at 3pm and 5pm.
