Lady Seawolves Beat Eagles in Five Innings
Bangor - This afternoon the Lady Seawolves played against YSCC member Eastern Maine CC and came away with a commanding 21-1 victory after five innings of play.
Bangor - This afternoon the Lady Seawolves played against YSCC member Eastern Maine CC and came away with a commanding 21-1 victory after five innings of play.
After one inning of play the Lady Seawolves jumped out to 10-0 lead and proceeded to tack on six runs in the second. EMCC put themselves on the scoreboard in the third to make the score 16-1 but the Seawolves continued to rack up runs in the fourth putting four runners across the plate. A lone run by SMCC in the fifth ended the game at 21-1.
Erica Brochu (Lewiston, ME) led the Seawolves from the mound, pitching a three hit game and striking out five while only giving up one run. Seawolves' shortstop Melinda Pye (Bucksport, ME) went two for three at the plate with a three run shot in the first inning and infielder Charlotte Lewis (Chatham, NH) had an impressive offensive game going four for five at bats, scoring three runs and getting one RBI.
The lone run for the Eagles came when freshman Karrie O'Donnel managed to steal home.
The Lady Seawolves are now 3-2 on the season and have an upcoming weekend jam packed with games. They will play St. Joseph's College of Vermont in a double header on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's games will be at 1pm and 3pm and Sunday's contests will be at 11am and 1pm.
