NHTI Shuts Out Seawolves

Concord - The Lynx of NHTI were too much for the Seawolves to handle as SMCC fell 8-0 and 10-0 in this afternoon's YSCC double header.
In the first outing despite the Seawolves making good contact on the ball they only amassed two hits for the game. Infielders Erica Brochu (Lewiston, ME) and Jennifer Genthner (Newcastle, ME) each managed a base hit. The Seawolves defense gave up 11 stolen bases as the Lynx rolled to an 8-0 victory.
Game two was dominated by NHTI's All-American pitcher, Tori Lemay, who tallied 12 strikeouts out of 18 batters. The Seawolves did get more hits in game two but couldn't get any base runners across the plate. Brochu led the offense with a double while Abigail Nielsen (North Yarmouth, ME) ] and Shallon Nadeau (South Portland, ME) each contributed base hits. Nielsen led the Seawolves' defense with two put outs and two assists from the shortstop position.
The Seawolves, now 2-4-1 for the fall season will play again on Saturday October 3rd at the YSCC fall tournament hosted by NHTI. Game times are currently to be determined.
