Athletics Engagement and Academic Report: Spring 2024

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— At the conclusion of the semester, Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Associate Dean of Athletics and Alumni Affairs Matt Richards published the findings of the semi-annual Spring 2024 Athletics Engagement and Academic Report. The report shows student-athlete GPAs and retention rates based on United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress rules for athletic participation eligibility—a higher threshold than those standards of the College.

Seawolves finish World Series run with 8-4 loss to Carlow

DUBOIS, Penn.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team concluded its run at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series on Tuesday, May 14, suffering a 8-4 loss to #9 Carlow University.

Softball picks up win over #9 Carlow at USCAA World Series

DUBOIS, Penn.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team defeated the #9 Celtics from Carlow University 1-0 in the play-game at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series on Monday, May 13.

Seawolves fall in extras to #1 Penn State Brandywine

DUBOIS, Penn.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team suffered a 5-4 loss to #1 Penn State University Brandywine 5-4 in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series on Monday, May 13.

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Athletic Department held its annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 7 at Purpoodock Golf Club in celebration of its student-athletes and their many successes throughout the 2023-24 academic year and athletic seasons.
