Seawolves Stay Hot with Doubleheader Sweep Over NHTI
SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball opened Tuesday’s conference doubleheader with an 8-0 shutout over NHTI in six innings, behind a standout pitching performance from Sarah Wilkins (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada). Wilkins struck out 13 batters, allowed just one hit, and recorded her 219th career strikeout.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Offensively, the Seawolves backed Wilkins with 14 hits. Delanie Perry (DeLand, Florida) went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, while Emily Hutchins (Kennebunk, Maine) contributed two extra-base hits—a double and a triple—and drove in two.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SMCC kept the bats rolling in Game Two, powering to a 16-1 win in five innings behind a 20-hit offensive showing and a steady performance from Cassidy Dunham (Keene, New Hampshire). The Seawolves scored in all four innings they batted—including a nine-run fourth to put the game out of reach.
Perry again led the charge, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Cameron Crerar (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) set the tone from the leadoff spot with a 3-for-4 day, scoring twice and swiping two bases. Olivia Hill (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) and Sloan Scotvold (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada) each recorded three hits, with Scotvold driving in a pair and launching a solo home run.
Dunham earned the win in the circle, tossing 4.2 innings of one-run ball, scattering five hits and striking out six.
