Seawolves Roll Past Roxbury, Extend Win Streak to Six with Doubleheader Sweep
ROXBURY, Mass. — Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball opened its doubleheader vs Roxbury with a 27–0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Madison Park High School Athletic Fields.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Seawolves wasted no time jumping in front, plating seven runs in the opening inning. Ariana Cross (Orrington, Maine) sparked the offense with an inside-the-park home run, while a combination of timely hits and Roxbury miscues helped SMCC build early separation.
SMCC continued to pour it on in the second inning, tallying eight more runs to extend the lead to 15–0. Jayden Tripp (Prospect, Maine) added an inside-the-park home run, Emma Hartt (Edmonton, Alberta) delivered an RBI triple, and Drea Rideout (Yarmouth, Maine) capped the inning with a two-run home run.
The offense stayed hot in the third, scoring six more runs behind continued pressure on the basepaths and defensive miscues.
SMCC added five more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run off the bat of Sloan Scotvold (Red Deer, Alberta, Canada), who finished with a game-high seven RBI.
In the circle, Scotvold was equally efficent. The sophomore tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out 10 over five innings.
The Seawolves finished with 19 hits in the game and did not commit an error defensively.

The Seawolves struck early once again, as Jayden Tripp led off the scoring with an inside-the-park home run in the first inning. Myranda Caddy (Lacombe, Alberta) followed with an RBI single to make it 2–0.
SMCC added another run in the second before breaking the game open in the third inning. The Seawolves pushed across five runs, highlighted by an inside-the-park home run from Carly Youngblood (Tracy, New Brunswick).
SMCC continued to add on in the fifth inning, scoring four more runs. Scarlet Proc (Sydney, NSW) delivered an inside-the-park home run, while Taylor Swift (Keene, N.H.) and Caddy each drove in runs to cap the scoring.
In the circle, Ava Dionne (Lewiston, Maine) fired a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 10 while issuing just one walk. Dionne also recorded an immaculate inning in the third, striking out the side on nine pitches.
Offensively, SMCC totaled 18 hits, with Tripp and Ariana Cross each collecting four hits in the win.
