Double Up: Seawolves Sweep Wildcats

GAME ONE

LONGMEADOW, MASS. — Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball opened its doubleheader with an offensive performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Bay Path, 12-3, in six innings. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Seawolves wasted no time getting on the board, planting for four runs in the top of the first inning.

After Bay Path answered with three runs in the bottom half of the frame, SMCC responded in the third inning, bringing home four more runs to extend its lead to 8-3.

SMCC continued to apply pressure throughout the game, adding insurance runs and breaking things open in the sixth inning with another four-run frame to seal the 12-3 victory.

GAME TWO

HOW IT HAPPENED

SMCC struck early with two runs in the first inning before adding three more in the third and one in the fourth to build a steady advantage.

The game broke open in the fifth inning, as the Seawolves erupted for seven runs to extend their lead 13-7.

SMCC had the scorebook busy in the seventh inning with another seven-run outburst to put the game out of reach and secure the 20-10 win.
