Reichert Hired to Fill Assistant Athletic Director Head Women’s Basketball Post
Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) is pleased to announce the addition of Kendra Reichert
South Portland – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) is pleased to announce the addition of Kendra Reichert who will fill the position of Assistant Athletics and Recreation Director, as well as, Head Women's Basketball Coach. Reichert will begin her duties on August 1, 2011. She replaces Rebecca Roak who held the position for the past four years.
"I'm very excited to have Kendra on board with our program," stated SMCC Director of Athletics and Head Men's Basketball Coach, Matt Richards. "I feel she is a great fit within our department and she will be a true role model for our student athletes."
Reichert comes to SMCC after four years at Cazenovia College in New York as Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator and Head Women's Basketball Coach. Her administrative experience at Cazenovia included compliance officer for 18 intercollegiate sports, facility manager, supervisor of day-to-day staff, and sports information and communications assistant. As Head Women's Basketball Coach, Reichert lead the program to post-season tournament play during each of her seasons as head coach.
At SMCC, Reichert will manage the day-to-day sports information and communications to the local media and surrounding community, manage and supervise department staff, oversee the departments recreational offerings, assist with daily operations and coach the women's basketball program.
"I'm really looking forward to working with Matt and all the Seawolves coaches and student-athletes. There is a history of success here and I plan to work extremely hard to ensure that it continues," stated Reichert.
