Lady Seawolves Overpower Warriors
New York - The defensive pressure of the Lady Seawolves in today's basketball contest held the Lady Warriors of Vaughn College to just six points in the first half of play, giving the Seawolves a 53-6 advantage at the break. SMCC picked up 32 steals in this afternoon's contest, Danielle McCusker (South Portland, ME) and Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) each picked up seven steals as Lady Seawolves rolled to a 93-15 victory.

The Lady Seawolves were led by McCusker who dropped in 17 points to go along with her seven steals and Deng contributed 14 points and nine rebounds. SMCC forward Maria Veino (Sanford, ME) chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds and point guard Yaritz Tejada (Chelsea, MA) scored 11. Danielle Day (Limington, ME) also had a noteworthy performance with six points, six rebounds, and five steals.
With this win the Lady Seawolves improve to 9-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play. The Lady Seawolves will return to action on Friday January 10th at the College of St. Joe's.
