Semis Bound: Seawolves Advance to YSCC Semifinals as #3 Seed

HOW IT HAPPENED
SMCC wasted no time as Ashley Mullen (Oakland, Maine) opened the scoring with a three-pointer, and the Seawolves forced multiple early turnovers to jump out to an 11-0 lead. Transition offense led to a 29-11 first-quarter advantage for the Seawolves.
The Seawolves continued to build separation in the second quarter. Taylor Renna (Pembroke, N.H.) knocked down a three off an Abby Roy (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) assist, while Mia Gumaa (Manchester, N.H.) and Emily Clark (Berwick, Maine) added buckets throughout the stretch. SMCC carried a 45-29 lead into halftime.
The game broke open in the third. Mckenna Johnson (Gardiner, Maine) converted steals into layups, Mullen connected from deep, and the Seawolves controlled the glass to extend the margin to 72-34 entering the fourth.
SMCC continued to move the ball and attack inside in the final frame, closing out the 92-47 victory while Renna and Skyler Tinker (Trescott Twp., Maine) each posted a double double.
