Athletics Engagement and Academic Report: Spring 2024

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— At the conclusion of the semester, Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Associate Dean of Athletics and Alumni Affairs Matt Richards published the findings of the semi-annual Spring 2024 Athletics Engagement and Academic Report. The report shows student-athlete GPAs and retention rates based on United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress rules for athletic participation eligibility—a higher threshold than those standards of the College.

SMCC Athletics celebrates student-athletes with annual awards banquet

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Athletic Department held its annual awards banquet on Tuesday, May 7 at Purpoodock Golf Club in celebration of its student-athletes and their many successes throughout the 2023-24 academic year and athletic seasons.

The Yankee Small College Conference announced its Academic All-Conference team from the first semester, 2023. We are proud to have so many outstanding student-athletes who represent our institutions from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and New York.

#5 Women's Soccer downed by #4 NHTI in YSCC quarters

CONCORD, N.H. -- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 shutout at #4 NHTI in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) quarterfinal round on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Lady Seawolves earn shutout win in regular season finale

AUGUSTA, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women’s soccer team shut out the Moose of the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) 3-0 in the team’s regular season finale on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Seawolves get back on track with 5-0 win over Vermont

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team took down the Knights from Vermont State University- Randolph 5-0 in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) action on Sunday, Oct. 8.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Lynx from NHTI in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team fell short to the Mustangs from Central Maine Community College (CMCC) 3-1 in non-conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

CASTINE, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team opened it's season on the road against NCAA Div. 3 Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) on Friday, Sept. 1; MMA emerged victorious with a final score of 2-1.
