Bio
Ethan Wells enters his eighth season as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Southern Maine Community College.
Wells led the Seawolves to a 6-4-4 overall record in 2024, finishing 3-1-3 in YSCC play and securing the #4 seed in the postseason. His team continued to garner national and conference recognition, producing two USCAA All-Americans: Leah Hill (First Team) and Jordyn Hulsey (Second Team). The roster also included six USCAA Academic All-Americans and two YSCC Player of the Week selections.
Over his tenure, Wells has guided the Seawolves to to an overall mark of 51-27-11 and 20-11-6 in YSCC action. Under his leadership, the program captured its second-ever conference title in 2019 and has made three United States Collegeiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament appearances (2018, 2019, 2022)— making a run to the national tournament Finals in 2022 (a program first). Wells was named YSCC Coach of the Year and USCAA National Div. 2 Coach of the Year in 2019; and during his 5-year tenure (COVID cancellation in 2020), Wells has produced 13 YSCC All-Conference selections, 12 USCAA All-American selections (seven first-team), and 16 USCAA Academic All-Americans.
Wells is also the Director of Athletics and a Sport Management adjunct at the College. A former team captain at the University of New England, he holds a bachelor’s in Sport Management and a master’s from Endicott College in Athletic Administration.
He resides in South Portland with his wife Jacqueline and daughter Capri.
