SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team suffered defeat to the Warriors from Massasoit Community College in a non-conference showdown at Wainwright Recreation Complex on Monday, Sept. 13.
The away squad put away three quick goals inside the 12-minute mark, each from a different contributor. SMCC first-year Anthony Perron (South Portland) connected on a ball from first-year midfielder Sam Kirkpatrick (West Bath, Maine) for a side netting strike and his first cap of the season at 25:15 to cut the deficit.
The Warriors would find the back of the goal again before the half and once more after the break to firm up the victory 5-1.
The SeaWolves slip to 1-3 overall, yet to play a conference match. Massasoit gets to 2-0 overall.
The action continues when the SeaWolves get a look at rival Central Maine Community College in a home date on Thursday, Sept. 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
