Weyeneth and Shea Power SeaWolves Over Lynx
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men’s soccer team earned its second Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) victory with a 2-1 result over the Lynx from NHTI on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team earned its second Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) victory with a 2-1 result over the Lynx from NHTI on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Sophomore captain Dylan Weyeneth (St. Agatha, Maine) connected on a ball from forward Eriksen Shea (Freeport, Maine) at the 2:19 marker to get the quick score. The same combination linked up at 65:02 to double the lead for the home team.
NHTI's Iddrisu Abdallah netted a score in the 78th minute, but it was too little too late for the Lynx who outshot SMCC 26-14.
Sophomore goalkeeper Joshua Nagle (Biddeford, Maine) tallied 12 saves in 90 minutes of work.
SMCC stands 3-4 overall, 2-0 YSCC. NHTI sits 3-2-2 on the season, 2-1 in conference action.
The SeaWolves return to league action when they travel to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Saturday, Sept. 25. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
