Seawolves Come Up Short In Augusta

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Moose found the back of the net in the 34th minute when Aurelia Maietta connected off an assist from Rhiannon Bousquet — the lone goal in what was otherwise a closely contested match.
SMCC captain Annabelle Fournier (Saco, Maine) led the Seawolves with four shots, two of which were on frame, as SMCC pushed for the equalizer across both halves. The Seawolves totaled 14 shots on goal and won the corner battle 5-4, but were unable to break through against a the performance from UMA goalkeeper Abigail Hynes, who turned away every attempt en route to a 14-save shutout.
Defensively, SMCC was anchored by strong efforts from Tiana Salazar (Windham, Maine), Rylie Wright (North Waterboro, Maine), and Aubrey Gilbert (Farmingdale, Maine), who finished with three saves in a full 90-minute outing in net.
BETWEEN THE POSTS:
Aubrey Gilbert (Farmingdale, Maine) played all 90 minutes in goal for SMCC, making three saves on four shots.
UMA's Abigail Hynes recorded 14 saves to earn the win.
