Tough Test at Home: Seawolves Fall to NHTI

HOW IT HAPPENED:
NHTI entered unbeaten and showed their form with a strong attacking presence throughout the match. SMCC held firm for most of the first half, with keeper Aubrey Gilbert (Farmingdale, Maine) making saves to keep it scoreless through 40 minutes.
The Lynx broke through late in the first half when Leah Davignon capitalized on an opportunity in the 41st minute to put the visitors ahead.
In the second half, NHTI doubled the lead in the 52nd minute on a strike from Adrienne Dorr assisted by Piper Flood. Flood later added a goal of her own in the 72nd minute to seal the result.
The Seawolves created a few promising opportunities, including shots on goal from Jocelyn Civiello (Sanford, Maine), Isabella Tanis (Bangor, Maine), and Jaidyn Stuart (Strong, Maine), but were denied by a strong showing from NHTI keeper Hailey Knight, who made three saves in the clean sheet effort.
BETWEEN THE POSTS:
Aubrey Gilbert played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves while facing 15 total shots.

SMCC (2-3-0, 0-3-0 YSCC) returns to action on Saturday, September 20, when they travel to Vermont State University Randolph. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM.
