2015-16 Lady Seawolves Softball News
Concord, NH - This afternoon the Lady Seawolves traveled to NHTI to face off against the Fighting Saints of CSJ in first round YSCC postseason action. Despite holding the Saints to the lowest number of runs in any of the eight meetings between the two teams this season, the Seawolves could not get anything rolling on offense and fell 4-0.
South Portland - The NHTI softball team tacked two more wins onto their USCAA best record, now 21-1 overall, with two wins over the Lady Seawolves.
South Portland - Yesterday afternoon the Seawolves hosted USCAA third ranked NHTI, who is currently sporting the best record in the USCAA at 19-1, in a solo softball game.
Franklin, MA - In a closely fought softball game, that took three extra innings to complete, the Bulldogs of Dean College squeaked out a 9-8 win over the Lady Seawolves.
South Portland - The Saints of CSJ put on a dominant performance on Friday when they beat the Lady Seawolves in both games of a double header. The two teams were back at it yesterday and CSJ continued to roll, walking away with two victories, 20-2 and 10-1.
South Portland - Yesterday the Lady Seawolves softball team hosted the College of St. Joseph's (VT) for an afternoon double header. The Saints put on a dominating performance as they overcame SMCC 19-3 in game one and 22-3 in game two.
South Portland - Yesterday afternoon the Lady Seawolves hosted the Broncos of SUNY-Delhi in USCAA softball action.
South Portland - The Lady Seawolves gave the Owls of UMaine-Presque Isle a much more competitive couple games than they did in the first double header between the two teams in which UMPI prevailed 19-4 and 7-2. This afternoon the Seawolves kept game one close, eventually falling 8-4, and in game two the Owls held a mere two run lead, 3-1, entering the fifth but pulled away in the final three innings to take a 17-6 victory.
South Portland - This afternoon the Lady Seawolves hosted UMaine-Presque Isle, currently ranked third in the USCAA, for double header softball action. Despite opening up both games competitively the Seawolves eventually dropped both game, 19-4 in the first and 7-2 in the second.
South Portland - The Lady Seawolves opened up their spring season against the Knights of Northern Essex. As the Seawolves struggled to work the kinks out, the Knights rolled to a 19-1 victory.
Concord, NH - This afternoon the Lady Seawolves softball team wrapped up their fall season on the road at NHTI, playing YSCC opponent College of St. Joseph's (VT). The two teams met earlier this season for a doubleheader in which the Saints shut the Seawolves out. This outing SMCC fared better offensively, but still fell to CSJ 9-1.
Concord - The Lynx of NHTI were too much for the Seawolves to handle as SMCC fell 8-0 and 10-0 in this afternoon's YSCC double header.
South Portland - The softball team picked up their first two wins of the fall season this afternoon as they defeated YSCC opponent Central Maine CC in double header action. The Seawolves managed an intense comeback win in game one, winning 7-6, and then they dominated in game two, 17-8
South Portland - The Lady Seawolves had a much better showing this afternoon in their matchup against the Wildcats of the University of New Hampshire, although they came up short in both contests.
Rutland, VT - The Lady Seawolves softball team has suffered through an injury-laden preseason. Carrying only nine healthy bodies they headed to Vermont to battle the runners-up of the springs' YSCC tournament, the Fighting Saints of CSJ.
